The Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English (BSEDEN) at PUP Maragondon is a four-year degree program that prepares students for professional practice as secondary school teachers specializing in the English language. The curriculum is designed in accordance with CHED Memorandum Order No. 74, series of 2017, and aligns with the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST).
Students gain comprehensive training in linguistics, literature, communication arts, research writing, pedagogy, and curriculum development. The program places strong emphasis on developing reflective and responsive educators who can effectively teach English in diverse learning environments across the Philippines.
The BSEDEN program incorporates student teaching internships in partner secondary schools throughout Cavite, giving aspiring educators hands-on classroom experience before graduation. Students are also trained in technology-integrated instruction and 21st-century teaching strategies.
Graduates are equipped to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) administered by the PRC, and are prepared for careers in secondary education, curriculum development, educational administration, and language instruction.
The BSEDEN program is guided by defined Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) and Student Outcomes (SOs) aligned with CHED and PPST standards.
